Rain Dance
I’ll be posting Pokemon teams on Tumblr if anyone wants to give them a look. Just doing this for fun, so check them out if you like! I won’t be going over tiers, IV’s and whatnot, as I am not aiming to come off as super competitive.
*Note: Most of these sets are from Smogon
This first team’s gonna be based around the effects of rain in battle.

Electrode @ Damp Rock
Timid Nature
Ability: Aftermath
4 HP/252 Sp.Atk/252 Spe
-Rain Dance
-Thunder
-Signal Beam
-Hidden Power (Ice)
Electrode is a pretty fast Pokemon and on this team, it’s going to be used to set up 8 turns of rain thanks to its Damp Rock. Thunder is there for STAB (Same Type Advantage Boost) and also has 100% accuracy in rain. Signal Beam’s there for additional coverage, and with the right IV’s, Hidden Power (Ice) can help cover its only weakness: Ground-types.

Castform @ Expert Belt
Modest Nature
Ability: Forecast
4 HP/252 Sp.Atk/252 Spe
-Rain Dance
-Weather Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
Next in this line-up is Castform. It’s more of a novelty Pokemon, since there are many other viable options (honestly, Castform isn’t that great) but it seemed fun to use. It’s the second Rain Dance user on the team, just in case Electrode faints before it gets a chance to set up. While rain is in effect, Weather Ball’s power gets boosted to 100 and becomes Water-type. Thunderbolt and Ice Beam is the famous BoltBeam combo, known to many for its excellent coverage and ability to hit every type for neutral damage.

Quagsire @ Sitrus Berry
Relaxed Nature
Ability: Unaware
252 HP/252 Def/4 Sp.Def
-Scald
-Recover
-Toxic
-Earthquake
While Swampert would be a much better option for this slot, Quagsire does have access to Recover and its ability Unaware which allows it to ignore stat changes. Scald and Earthquake are there for STAB, and Scald was chosen over Surf or Waterfall on this set due to its 30% chance of burning the target. Toxic for stalling the opponent’s Pokemon.

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
Ability: Hydration
248 HP/252 Def/8 Spe
-Rest
-Scald/Surf
-Toxic
-Ice Beam
Vaporeon is a great addition to the team, coming in with its Dream World ability Hydration. This lets Vaporeon use Rest without worry of the extra turns wasted asleep because it wakes up automatically when rain is in effect. Scald or Surf for STAB, Ice Beam for added coverage, and Toxic to stall.

Dragonite @ Life Orb
Mild Nature
Ability: Multiscale
76 Atk/252 Sp.Atk/180 Spe
-Hurricane
-Aqua Tail
-Thunder
-Earthquake
The powerhouse of the team. This Dragonite set fully takes advantage of rain, with Hurricane as its STAB move and the 100% accuracy during rain, you can inflict some serious damage if the opponent doesn’t set up the appropriate checks and counters in time. Aqua Tail gets boosted from 90 to 135 base power thanks to the weather, Thunder gains perfect accuracy, and Earthquake for additional coverage for Pokemon that the other moves can’t hit strong enough.

Politoed @ Mystic Water
Modest Nature
Ability: Drizzle
252 HP/252 Sp.Atk/4 Spe
-Hydro Pump
-Focus Blast
-Ice Beam
-Perish Song
To be honest, Politoed is only on this team because of it being the only other Pokemon besides Kyogre to possess the ability Drizzle, which summons permanent rain, making Politoed an indispensable part of this team. Hydro Pump for STAB, Focus Blast and Ice Beam for coverage, and Perish Song to either force switch the enemy out or to guarantee victory if your opponent’s down to their last Pokemon and you have any other Pokemon left besides Politoed.
Swampert and Empoleon are also viable options.
Alrighty then, that’s that. Forgive me for my bad grammar at some parts, but I didn’t feel the need to try very hard since this is only just for fun.
